# Poland calendar 2027: holidays, school breaks, clock change

> Every date that matters in Poland in 2027 in one table: public holidays, long weekends, school year and winter breaks, clock changes and working days.

**The Poland calendar 2027 has three layers that rarely appear in one place:
14 public holidays, the school year with its regional winter breaks, and two
clock changes.** The date people search for most comes first: clocks go
forward on Sunday 28 March 2027, which is also Easter Sunday, and go back on
Sunday 31 October 2027. Below is the whole year in one table, then a short
section per topic with a link to the full article.

## Public holidays and long weekends in 2027

Poland has 14 statutory days off in 2027. Eight fall on a weekday, four on a
Sunday (28 March, 16 May, 15 August and 26 December) and two on a Saturday
(1 May and 25 December). A holiday on a Saturday still counts: under the
Labour Code the employer has to give another day off for it. A holiday on a
Sunday earns nothing extra.

The best long weekends of the year:

- **1-6 January**: New Year's Day is a Friday; two days of leave on 4 and
5 January give six days off.
- **27-30 May**: Corpus Christi is a Thursday; one day of leave on Friday
  28 May gives four days.
- **11-14 November**: Independence Day is a Thursday; Friday 12 November is
  the bridge day.

All 14 dates, Easter and the full list of bridges are in
[Poland public holidays 2027](/blog/public-holidays-poland-2027).

## Clock changes in 2027

Poland changes the clocks on the same night as the rest of the EU, the last
Sunday of March and the last Sunday of October:

- **Sunday 28 March 2027**: summer time starts, clocks go forward from 2:00
to 3:00, so the night is an hour shorter. It is also Easter Sunday.
- **Sunday 31 October 2027**: summer time ends, clocks go back from 3:00 to
  2:00.

The EU proposal to end seasonal clock changes has not been adopted, so the
change still happens twice a year. Night shifts, pay for the extra or missing
hour and the dates for 2028 are in
[Poland clock change](/blog/poland-clock-change).

## School year and school holidays

The school year 2026/2027 ends on **Friday 25 June 2027**, the first Friday
after 20 June, and the summer holidays run until 31 August. The spring break
is **25-30 March 2027**, from the Thursday before Easter to the Tuesday after
it. The next school year starts on **Wednesday 1 September 2027**; classes
move to the following Monday only when 1 September falls on a Friday or a
weekend.

Winter holidays (ferie) depend on the region where the school is:

| Dates | Main cities |
| --- | --- |
| 18-31 January | Wrocław, Łódź, Opole, Rzeszów, Białystok, Katowice |
| 1-14 February | Warsaw, Lublin, Gdańsk, Kielce |
| 15-28 February | Kraków, Poznań, Bydgoszcz, Toruń, Olsztyn, Szczecin, Zielona Góra |

Every region with its voivodeship is in

and the rules behind all school dates, including exams, are in

## Working days, hours and pay in 2027

A full-time job in Poland has **253 working days and a norm of 2,008 hours in
2027**. The months are not equal: May has the fewest hours, 144, because
1 May falls on a Saturday and 3 May on a Monday; March, April and June to
September have the most, 176 each. Every month with its holidays is in
[working days in Poland 2027](/blog/working-days-poland-2027).

The minimum wage from 1 January 2027 is **4,950 PLN gross a month**, and the
minimum hourly rate for civil-law contracts is **32.30 PLN**. Because the
monthly pay is fixed and the hours change, an hour of work at the minimum
wage is worth more in May than in March.

To count working days between any two dates, use the
[working days calculator](/en/tools/working-days). Why a Saturday holiday
lowers the hours without removing a working day is explained in
[working days vs the monthly hours norm](/blog/polish-working-time-norm-explained),
and net pay and the hourly rate for every month are in

## Is Saturday a working day in Poland?

Not for most full-time employees. The Labour Code requires an average
five-day working week, and the usual schedule is Monday to Friday, so
Saturday is the extra day off. That is why a public holiday on a Saturday
earns employees another day off, which the employer has to schedule within
the settlement period. In 2027 that happens twice, for 1 May and 25 December.
