# Working days calculator

Count working days and working hours between two dates in Poland. The calculator takes out statutory public holidays, including Christmas Eve, a day off since 2025, and shows which of them fall on a Saturday. No account.

**Poland has 253 working days and a full-time norm of 2008 hours in 2026, and 253 days and 2008 hours in 2027.**

## Common questions

### How do working days differ from the working time norm?

Working days are Monday to Friday without public holidays. The Polish norm is 8 hours for every Monday to Friday, less 8 hours for every holiday that is not on a Sunday. A holiday on a Saturday therefore keeps the working days but lowers the hours, and the employer has to give another day off for it.

### Is Christmas Eve a day off in Poland?

Yes. Since 2025, 24 December is a statutory day off, so December has one working day fewer than before whenever it falls on a weekday.

### How many working days are there in a month?

Usually between 19 and 23, depending on how the weekdays fall and which holidays land between Monday and Friday. The year pages have the full tables.

### Does the result apply to part-time work?

The hours are for a full-time job in the basic working time system. For part-time work, multiply them by the fraction of the full time.

## How to count working days yourself

Take every Monday to Friday in the period and subtract the statutory public holidays that fall on those days. Weekends are out from the start, so a holiday on a Saturday or Sunday does not change the number of working days.

Example: November 2026 has 21 weekdays. 1 November falls on a Sunday and takes nothing away; 11 November is a Wednesday. That leaves 20 working days.

## How to count the working time norm

The Polish Labour Code (article 130) sets the norm in three steps:

- 40 hours for every full week in the period,

- plus 8 hours for every Monday to Friday left over outside the full weeks,

- minus 8 hours for every public holiday that falls on any day other than Sunday.

The third step includes Saturdays. That is why May 2027 has 19 working days (3 May is a Monday and Corpus Christi, 27 May, a Thursday) but only 144 hours instead of 152: 1 May is a Saturday and takes another 8 hours off. The employer has to give another day off for it within the same settlement period.

## The holidays the calculator subtracts

Since 2025 Poland has 14 statutory days off: New Year's Day, Epiphany (6 January), Easter Sunday and Easter Monday, Labour Day (1 May), Constitution Day (3 May), Pentecost Sunday, Corpus Christi, Assumption Day (15 August), All Saints' Day (1 November), Independence Day (11 November), Christmas Eve (24 December) and both days of Christmas (25 and 26 December).

## Part-time work

The calculator's hours are for a full-time job. For half-time divide them by two, for three quarters multiply by 0.75. The number of working days stays the same; only the hours change.
