Deadlines on the dashboard

A tax with an approaching deadline lands on the timeline, and an overdue one lands in "needs attention". That is the main reason this module exists: tax deadlines are infrequent, which is exactly what makes them easy to forget.

Marking it paid

Clicking "paid" records the expense in your budget and takes the item off your reminders. The payment date stays, so the history is complete.

How this relates to income

Tax set aside against an invoice in the Income module does not create an item here automatically. That stays a separate decision — advances are usually paid in one lump for a period, not against a single invoice.
