Pomodoro timer

Type what you are working on, set the length and start. When the time is up you get a sound and one question: did you finish or not. No account, nothing sent to our server — the last three sessions stay in your browser.

How it works

1. Type what you want to work on — it shows up in the history afterwards.
2. Choose how long you want to give it. Twenty-five minutes by default.
3. Press Start. You can switch to another tab — the countdown shows in the title, and the time is read from the clock, so a sleeping tab loses nothing.
4. When the sound goes, say whether you finished or need another round.
5. Take the break it offers, or skip it and start the next session.

Common questions

Do I need an account?

No. The timer works straight away and the last three sessions stay in your browser. An account is only useful once you want the full history and to log time against projects.

Does my data go anywhere?

No. This page sends no sessions to a server. Everything you type stays in your browser and disappears when you clear its data.

Does the timer keep running if I switch tabs?

Yes. Time is read from the system clock rather than counted in ticks, so a sleeping tab loses no minutes. Progress shows in the tab title.

How long is one pomodoro?

Classically 25 minutes of work and a 5 minute break, with a longer break every fourth. Here you can set anything from 15 to 90 minutes — the method is a guide, not a rulebook.

Will I hear the sound on a phone?

Yes, unless you mute it with the button or your browser is muted. The sound is enabled when you press start, because phones will not play audio without a tap from you.
