Working days and hours in Poland, May 2025
May 2025 has 21 working days and a working time norm of 160 hours.
The norm is for a full-time job in the basic working time system. Calendar days this month: 31.
Public holidays
- Thursday, 1 May 2025 - Labour Day
- Saturday, 3 May 2025 - Constitution Day (Saturday: lowers the norm by 8 hours, the employer gives another day off)
How the norm is worked out
The Polish Labour Code (art. 130) gives 8 hours for every Monday to Friday and takes off 8 hours for every public holiday not falling on a Sunday. This month: 22 × 8 h − 2 × 8 h = 160 h.
First working day: Friday, 2 May 2025. Last working day: Friday, 30 May 2025.
Part-time norms
- 1/2 of full time: 80 h
- 3/4 of full time: 120 h
- 1/4 of full time: 40 h
Legal basis: art. 130 of the Polish Labour Code and the Act of 18 January 1951 on public holidays (Christmas Eve off since 2025). More: working days versus the working time norm.
